Friends of the Aiken County Library — Bob Leiter, Glenda McNichols, and Judy Mittino — deconstructed a large wall hanging comprised of 18 canvases, each 16”x16”.
These canvases were painted in 1993 by local Aiken artists representing children’s book characters painted into Aiken locations. Once Bob had separated the canvases, Glenda and Judy painted all their edges in bright colors and then hung them all on the wall behind the children’s computers on the first floor. These works of art are fun, timeless, and exude the joy of books and good stories.
Please take time to visit them when you’re in the library!!
The Friends funded blinds for 104 library windows for $26,100.
